Africa Climate and Health Innovation Institute runs a monthly webinar series designed to train healthcare professionals, students, and communities on the health impacts of climate change. Every month, a new session tackles a critical topic, from child health and infectious disease to mental health and heat inequality, led by experts across Africa. Since January 2026, ACHII has delivered training consistently, month after month, equipping attendees with practical, evidence-based actions they can apply immediately. Antalya COP31: Wetin climate change really mean for your health?
COP31 Conversations: The Road to COP31 — what COP is, what's at stake in Antalya, and Africa and Nigeria's climate-health priorities.
With COP31 approaching in November, this conversation will break down what COP is, what is at stake at COP31, and the key climate and health priorities Nigeria and Africa should be advocating for.
COP31 runs 9–20 November 2026 in Antalya, Türkiye, under a Türkiye–Australia presidency arrangement, with the theme “Dialogue. Consensus. Action.” It follows COP30 in Belém, Brazil, which delivered the Belém Health Action Plan and put “resilient health systems” on the COP agenda as a named priority theme for the first time. Health is now one of COP31's own ten priority themes.
Antalya is also a stepping stone: COP32 moves to Addis Ababa in 2027 under the African Group's presidency, and African negotiators are treating COP31 as the moment to consolidate a unified “African Common Platform” on adaptation finance, loss and damage, and health before the continent takes the chair.
